D.O.D feat. Carla Monroe – Still Sleepless (Official Lyric Video)

UK DJ/producer D.O.D welcomes rising star Carla Monroe to feature on one of the year’s standout tracks. The topline showcases her talents as both vocalist and writer, striking the perfect balance of creating something new whilst retaining the original’s magic. The original ‘Sleepless’ has to date, racked up the best part of ten million streams, fifty thousand Shazams, over thirty Radio 1 plays and tastemaker support from the likes of Danny Howard, Annie Mac, Oliver Heldens & Diplo with the curation giant Selected uploading to their YouTube channel. Carla Monroe first burst onto the scene in 2017 with the platinum hit single ‘17’ which she wrote and sung for MK and followed this up with another collab with the house legend on ‘2AM’. Subsequent cuts, collaborations and sessions have been with Grammy-nominated duo Camelphat, Nervo, R3HAB, Julia Michaels, Oliver Heldens, Riton, Meduza and Tiesto. This year saw Carla release her debut single ‘Shapes’ which picked up radio playlist support from Capital Dance (featured as Jam Hot) and Kiss Dance. Carla ‘I always loved the original ‘Sleepless’ so when D.O.D and Laura Welsh hit me up asking if I wanted to help write to it, I jumped at the chance! I remember us trying out so many different ideas until we found the magic in a melody we had actually used in a different part of the song. We really wanted to stay true to the original version of ‘Sleepless’ and compliment what was already there without overcomplicating it. The song is about having second thoughts about a situation –something we can all relate to I think! I like writing about real-life stuff, so I hope this song resonates with others the way it does for me!’ D.O.D currently sits at #83 in the DJ Mag Top 100 with his dexterity behind the decks earning him the accolade of one of a handful of DJ’s to record a brace of mixes for Pioneer. He makes regular appearances at festivals such as Tomorrowland, Creamfields with an extensive China tour set to be announced. This year has seen demand for D.O.D rise, with a slew of singles released on Armada and remixes for Atlantic and FFRR, the latter on Owen Westlake’s hit ‘So Much Love’. D.O.D feat. Carla Monroe ‘Still Sleepless’ is released September 17th on Axtone Records. D.O.D Carla Monroe Axtone

    Wiwek – Follow Me

Wiwek Mahabali aka Wiwek marks his debut on Axtone with a full-throttle assault on the senses, delivering a 3 track EP of the signature sounds & rhythms that have made Wiwek one of the standout producers of the past decade in his self-styled genre, Jungle Terror. Time Machine Drums EP comprises the triple threat of ‘Follow Me’, ‘Oolala’, and ‘Victory Dance’ all pushing production sonics to the limits and each a welcome arrival to the slowly opening to a world of festival stages. ‘I am really fond of implementing traditional percussions in a modern musical setting. With the electronic possibilities we have now, you can fuse everything you want. One thing I’ve always been amazed by is the energy of traditional percussion and how those rhythms and sounds make people move. With this EP I wanted to recreate this with the sonic power of electronic music. Putting the drums in a time machine.’ -Wiwek Axwell fans will know Wiwek’s Gregor Salto collaboration ‘On Your Mark’ that has been a mainstay in the bossman’s sets for many years. [might be an idea to add a sentence why Axtone is releasing this EP, to add more vision/perspective from the label] In 2016 OWSLA released his EP The Free and Rebellious, which not only included a collaboration between Wiwek & Skrillex (“Killa”) but also served as the soundtrack to a short film called Still in the Cage that the pair co-produced. Most recently releasing his ‘Periphery’ single on W&W’s Rave Culture, Wiwek is now on his fourth volume of Jungle Terror for BARONG Family whilst he also collaborated with Marshmello on Angklung life that featured on Joytime III. Not to forget, he also releases music via his own label Maha Vana. Which he started back in 2012, just to be able to release any music because nobody wanted to sign his crazy sound. Nowadays it’s a safe haven for him and others to create without boundaries or restrictions. Wiwek ‘Time Machine Drums’ EP is released September 10th through Axtone. Wiwek Axtone
